My Ambitions

My ambition is to be an army officer. To be an officer, I have to go to junior college and earn an 'A' level certificate. That will be impossible for me because my studies is not that good. I plan to go to polytechnic and sign up for the army-polytechnic schorlarship. For more information, You can visit the ministry of defense website[mindef.com.sg]. The rank I am aiming for is a Lieutenant. I am a National Cadet Corps specialist and have gone to the School of Infantry Specialist[SISPEC]. Seeing the bond of the mens inspired me to be one of them.
I am a war and weapon fanatic. I can remember every name of the different type of rifles like the AR-15 which is similar to the M-16A1,AK-47,GALIL,MILAN. War movies like Black Hawk Down,Hamburger Hill and many other. So to war fanatics feel free to comment.

Junior Officer RanksThe Junior Officers wear bars on their epaulettes. Commanding platoons or companies of men, they oversee the execution of orders and ensure the welfare of the men under their command. They are most important in small-unit combat, and earn the respect of their men by leading by example. As exemplary soldiers, they bring their men into action with dedication and energy. Junior Officers graduate from OCS with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant (2LT), and are promoted to Lieutenant (LTA) after they have had sufficient experience. They may later be moved to higher appointments and assume the rank of Captain (CPT).
Senior Officer RanksThe Senior Officers wear the National Coat of Arms on their epaulettes, more affectionately known as 'crabs'. They make command decisions in combat and peacetime, taking charge of units or important branches. Senior Officers are crucial in the formulation and execution of missions, as well as overseeing the training and direction of their charges.Commanding Officers begin their duties at the rank of Major (MAJ), and only the few who can distinguish themselves will attain the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). It is an even greater challenge and responsibility for a senior officer to attain the rank of Colonel (COL).o comment.
The School of Infantry Specialists is (SISPEC) is a leadership school. It is where selected soldiers with leadership potential from all formations in the Army begin their training to be leaders.Thousands of future section commanders train under the roof of SISPEC every year. Although they enter SISPEC with very different expectations, they all agree on one thing when they graduate – training was tough but rewarding. Trainees who enroll at SISPEC first have to go through the Basic Section Leader Course (BSLC) where they are taught basic infantry skills to command an infantry section. Upon graduation from BSLC, the soldiers will be sent to the various formations in the Army for specialized training in their respective fields. Those who are selected to serve in the Infantry and Guards formations will remain in SISPEC, where they will undergo the Advance Section Leader Course (ASLC). Besides these two courses, SISPEC also conducts the Platoon Sergeant Course and the Company Sergeant Major Course. The SISPEC’s BSLC is a challenging course that grooms fresh graduates from the Basic Military Training Centre into future leaders. The course trains and equips soldiers with infantry skills and knowledge to command an Infantry section. The trainees are required to go through the Confidence Obstacle Course and the Advance Obstacle Course, which demand both physical and mental toughness. The BSLC ends with a 32-km road march in full battle order. Upon graduation, the soldiers will be promoted to the rank of corporal. Hope you will visit the mindef website. See you soon.
